Core Competencies of Ideal POSTECHIAN

Diagnosis of the Six POSTECHIAN Core Competencies

  • In order to enhance the core competencies suitable for POSTECH ideality and educational goal, periodically analyze utilizing self-developed analysis tool
  • Analysis Object: Currently attending students
  • Analysis Period: Once every year
  • Management of accumulated data through PAMS

Academic Survey

Academic Curriculum Survey

  • Survey Objective: Collect students’ opinion about present academic situation and information and seek methods for curriculum improvement
  • Survey Contents: Classes and learning activities, Learning efforts and performance, Improvement points due to class deviation, Degree of recognition about introduction of subjects, etc.
  • Survey Period: Twice every year
  • Survey Method: Quantitative, Qualitative

Participation in External Domestic Surveys (K-NSSE, etc.)

  • Survey Objective: Provide support for establishment of undergraduate education development plan based on objective references and information so that comparison with universities that have similar conditions to all participating universities through a standardized tool is easy.
  • Survey Contents: Comparison by each aspect within the university, Comparison to a colleague university
  • Survey Object: Undergraduate student
  • Survey Period: Once every year

Outcome Assessment

Academic Performance Survey and Diagnosis

  • Survey Objective: Examine educational experience and the degree of participation in various activities at POSTECH and analyze the degree of satisfaction and the relationship with educational performance
  • Survey Contents: Future plan, Education satisfaction, Change in perception toward competency, Adaptation to university life, Learning attitude, etc.
  • Survey Period: Once every year
  • Survey Instrument: Structured questionnaire self-developed by the Innovation Center for Education

Program Effectiveness Analysis

  • Survey Objective: Analyze how much the provided program for students’ educational experience influences the advancement of POSTECH core competencies
  • Survey Contents: Program satisfaction, Degree of participation, Degree of competency improvement, etc.
  • Survey Period: Once every year
  • Survey Instrument: Structured questionnaire self-developed by the Innovation Center for Education
